Arsenal will be hosting its London neighbor West Ham United for its 17th game of the Premier League. Both the teams are locked in a fierce battle for the number 4 spot on the points table. West Ham United is currently at the number 4 spot with 27 points, and Arsenal is close in its heels, just one point behind, with 26 points and at the 6th place. Both the teams would love to extend their lead into the top four, which will guarantee them a spot in the Champions League.
West Ham has had a good run so far this season, with convincing wins against top-tier teams like Liverpool and Chelsea. The team will however be going into this match after suffering a 0-1 loss against Zagreb in its Europa League game.
On the other hand, Arsenal has two of its past games and lost three.
This is perhaps the most evenly poised match that will be played this weekend,
Match prediction and betting tips for Arsenal vs West Ham United Premier League 2021-22. The match is going to be held at the Emirates Stadium, London, on the 15th of December, 2021.
The Gunners began the season on a disastrous note, losing its first three games. In these three games, Arsenal scored 0 goals and conceded 9, which includes a 0-5 drubbing against the reigning champions Manchester City. Since then, coach Mikel Arteta has lifted up the team well and mentored the team to 8 wins in the next 13 games.
David Moyes’s boys on the other hand have been having a memorable season, and have turned giant killers by beating teams like Liverpool and Chelsea, causing upheaval on the points table.
Arsenal is likely to miss Bernd Leno, Sead Kolasinac, Emile Smith, and Martinelli due to various injuries. The form of Captain Aubameyang, who has been goalless for the past 6 games is also a concern. He will most probably be making a comeback in the playing XI after sitting out on the match against Southampton due to a `disciplinary breach´.
West Ham has a compromised defense wall, as Kurt Zouma and Ben Johnson will most likely miss the game due to hamstring injury. Aaron Creswell and Ryan Fredericks too might be sitting out due to niggles.
The teams are pretty evenly matched on paper, and neither seems to have an upper hand at this stage. The odds available for a draw are quite favorable and we are happy to take a punt on that.
Bet on a draw.
Both teams are going through a bit of a dip in form and that has showcased some glaring defensive weaknesses. There is enough goal-scoring talent on both sides to exploit those weaknesses and we think there is a very good chance that this match turns out to be one with at least a goal for both teams.
