Trust

Of course, Unibet is also very well regulated. The bookmaker is licensed by the UKGC, by Malta and Sweden as well as multiple other gambling jurisdictions. Indeed, Unibet is among the few online betting sites that has never been sanctioned by the UKGC.

Additionally, the bookmaker is certified by eCOGRA, which is in itself a seal of trust.

Moreover, Unibet is among the highest rates online casino over at AskGamblers, receiving more positive than negative reviews from players there. The number of complaints against Unibet is also incredibly small, though not all of them are resolved as of yet.

Still, there really is no reason to distrust Unibet, who have been around for over two decades now. That also goes a long way towards ensuring trust. Not many bookmakers survive this long in the industry without at least some blemish to their name.

Bonuses and promotions

All of Unibet’s promotions can be found via the link “Special Offers” on the right-hand side of the homepage. The bookmaker has a welcome offer for the sportsbook, the casino and the poker section.

The sportsbook offer includes a money back offer on your first bet if you lose. You need to make a minimum first deposit of €10 and a minimum bet of €1 on odds of 1.40 or higher. The same is the case if you place a multiple bet. Some sports are excluded, such as horse racing or greyhound racing.

If you win your bet, great. If you lose, you’ll get your stake back up to a maximum of €40 in bonus money. In order to be able to withdraw the bonus funds, you’ll need to wager them 3x on odds of 1.40 or higher (singles and multiples). You have 7 days to meet these requirements.

There’s also a €10 casino bonus attached to that, which needs to be wagered 35x at the casino.

In any case, the bonus terms are definitely fair, though they are varied depending on how you want to complete your wagering. So, reading the full terms is a must.

Welcome bonus aside, Unibet offers plenty of other bonuses and promotions all the time. Whilst there is a focus on horse racing offers, you can also get other free bet offers and even a refer-a-friend bonus. There are also casino, bingo and poker promotions to peruse regularly.

Overall, we find the bonus terms absolutely fair here and the range of offers varied and interesting.

Odds and betting selection

Over the years, Unibet has repeatedly updated their sportsbook, giving it a modern look and making it more intuitive to use. On the left-hand side of the homepage, you can either check out the popular betting markets or simply go through the list of sports alphabetically.

Of course, football betting is usually on top of the popular events. You will either find various leagues here or events such as the UEFA or the Euro Qualifications or the World Cup. If you scroll down to go alphabetically, you’ll find football displayed with 50,000 or more available bets.

If you follow this link, you’ll then see the featured and live and upcoming events at the top, followed by matches according to country below.

Then you find your match and a little plus sign and a number behind it shows you how many betting options you can find here. Smaller local matches in Spain, for instance, may only have two dozen betting markets waiting for you.

Premier League matches, on the other side, may well have twice that number or even more markets available.

Among them are:

  • Full Time
  • Total Goals
  • Both Teams to Score
  • Double Chance
  • Correct Score
  • Draw no Bet
  • 3-way Handicap
  • Asian Handicap

And much more.

Unibet offers extremely competitive odds with relatively low margins. Their available betting markets are some of the best in the industry and there’s hardly a sport you won’t be able to bet on besides football.

A particular focus, as previously mentioned, is on horse racing here, which even gets a separate section. Beyond that, you can bet on nearly three dozen sports and events at Unibet, proving that they are one of the best bookmakers in terms of variety.

Of course, in-play betting is also available at Unibet. They don’t put as strongly a focus on live betting as we’ve seen elsewhere, but you won’t have troubles finding competitive odds and betting options for live events as well.

Furthermore, Unibet does offer live streaming for many matches, especially for football and horse racing, but for other televised events as well.

Banking

You need to visit the Unibet Help Centre to learn more about deposits and withdrawals. It’s a somewhat clunky solution, where you click on the provided questions and find the answers regarding deposits made via credit or debit card, e-Wallets, bank transfer and more. A separate section contains similar questions and answers for withdrawals.

It would have been much preferable to simply have a list, where all the available payment methods are listed, including transaction times, fees and whether or not they are available for withdrawals as well.

This is certainly not the easiest solution and we’re also lacking a full list of payment methods as the help sections keeps things more general.

At least, the processing and transaction times listed here are realistic and not just empty promises. E-Wallets are generally the fast way to receive your withdrawal, whilst bank transfers may take up to 5 days.

There also does not appear to be monthly withdrawal limit at Unibet, which is good news. Of course, withdrawal limits per transaction are imposed depending on your chosen method.

Finally, the KYC process can take a few days to be completed at Unibet, so be sure to get that sorted prior to making your first withdrawal request.

Customer Service – 3/5

The above-mentioned Help Centre is a great first stop for any questions you may have. Handily, if your question isn’t answered, you always get an option to contact customer service right away by clicking the ‘Contact Us’ button.

The customer service team is very professional and friendly. The live chat is available 24/7 and the most convenient method of contacting the team. Emails are usually answered within 24 hours as well.

UK residents may even call a toll-free number to talk to a live person. However, if you want to call from somewhere else, charges may apply.

The only thing lacking is the direct customer engagement in gambling forums, which we’ve seen done much better by other bookmakers.

Software – 3.5/5

We once considered the Unibet software quite boring. Whilst functionality is still their main aim, the homepage looks definitely much more modern than just a few years ago. The layout remains the same, however, and the homepage is still deceptively familiar despite a more modern design.

The user interface is quite intuitive to navigate, though the different menus at the top and on the left-hand side seem to be overdoing it just slightly. The big banner on the homepage advertising their welcome offer is also unnecessarily large.

Their mobile page is the more attractive option if you prefer the fold-away menu, which gives everything a much cleaner look and you can still find all that you need.

Handily, Unibet offers Android apps for their sportsbook, casino and poker network, which means you can stick to what you prefer the most or download them all.

The user experience is smooth, loading times are quick and functionality is excellent for the mobile page and the apps.

Other

As noted above, Unibet offers a casino, live casino, bingo and poker as well. That makes them a full-service gambling provider, which you get to access through a single wallet.

What we also enjoy about Unibet is their community engagement. They have tons of blogs on a wide variety of gambling or betting-related topics. But they also host the Unibet community, which gives users a fully-fledged forum on all topics relevant at Unibet.

Summary

As one of the oldest and most trustworthy bookmakers around, Unibet is well worth checking out, whether you are new or an experienced punter. There is little negative to say about the operator, which is another positive we can note here.

Even the things that we do believe need improving are no reason not to play here. Unibet offers a single wallet betting and gambling experience, is very well regulated and if you can’t find what you are looking for here, you probably won’t find it elsewhere either.
