The team lost 3 games and managed to win just two, barely scraping through with a two-point lead. In La Liga, Atletico is trailing its neighbors Real Madrid, who are at the top, by a good 13 points, with no realistic hope of repeating last season’s performance.
They have also crashed out of the Supercopa de Espana and Copa del Rey. Atletico has lost 1-0 to Levante in its most recent outing, suffering a second loss in its last 3 games.
