However, the team finished second in Group H, 2 points behind Juventus. The team lost one game against the toppers and played out a draw against Zenit.
The next few weeks will be a bit busy for Chelsea, as it takes on Liverpool in the EFL Cup finals towards the end of the month, and have also advanced into the fifth round of the FA Cup. LOSC Lille, which made it to the group stages in the 2019-20 season, has been a surprise package this time around, topping the table in Group G, ahead of teams like Salzburg and Sevilla. The club started the group stages on shaky ground, not winning any of the first three games, managing to play out two draws. However, it went on to win the next 3.
Its recent form has not been great though, winning just 2 out of the last 5 games that it has played. Its last outing was a home game against Metz in Ligue 1, which ended in a goalless draw.

Given its ability to spring up surprises now and then, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them give a tough fight to the hosts. Chelsea will be relying heavily on Edouard Mendy, who managed to keep 4 clean sheets at the group stage. Thomas Tuchel will be missing out on Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount but has an otherwise healthy squad to choose from.

Being in good form, we expect Lille to score at least one goal during the 90 minutes, but are unlikely to cause much trouble to the hosts.

Chelsea may be in 3rd place in the Premier League but it is not at its best up front. Romelu Lukaku just set the record for the fewest touches in a game for a player that played the full 90 minutes. There are not enough chances being created and the strikers are not able to convert the few that are. We can see this match being a bit dull and end with under 2.5 goals.
