Thanks to the raging pandemic, both the teams have played the fewest games among all the clubs at 18 games each. The only exception is Burnley, which has played 17. In fact, Leicester has seen all 3 of its Premier League fixtures getting canceled since the New Year, and this will be the Foxes’ first league game since it won 1-0 against Liverpool on 29th December. The only game Leicester has featured in since then was the 3rd round FA Cup clash against Watford, which it won convincingly. Leicester is in 10th place currently, and a win in this game can help it overtake Brighton, and move to the 9th spot.
Tottenham’s much-awaited North London derby against Arsenal was called off after the League accepted Arsenal’s request to postpone the fixture. The Gunners were missing several key players, due to injuries and COVID, while some players are on leave to play the AFCON. That game will now be on a later date. Despite a slew of postponements, the Spurs have maintained their form, and are unbeaten since the last 8 league games they have played. The team is at 6th place, just two points behind their North London rivals, and have played 2 games less than them. Antonio Conte has managed his team decently and should be able to secure a top 4 spot if the team builds upon its current form.
