As the year 2021 draws to a close, Manchester United will host Burnley for it’s final league game of the calendar year for Premier League 2021-22.
After an underwhelming start to the season, The Red Devils have improved their performance under the interim boss Ralf Rangnick. The team is currently at the 7th spot on the points table, with 28 points in 17 games. In his first month as manager, Ralf has been unbeaten, with 3 wins and 2 draws across all competitions. However, it could have been 4 wins, but the team struggled to a 1-1 draw in their previous game, against the minnows, Newcastle. The draw could come as a jolt to Rangnick, and show him the enormity of the task he has on his hands.
The visitors are currently in the 18th spot with just 11 points, and are fighting to avoid a relegation. They have however played just 15 games, and will be taking the field for the first time after it’s Dec 12th draw against Everton.
Match prediction and betting tips for Manchester United F. C. vs Burnley F. C. Premier League 2021-22. The match is going to be played at the Old Trafford stadium, Manchester, on the 30th of December, 2021.
Burnley will be fresh after an unexpected mid-season break, and will be looking to put up a fighting performance at Old Trafford. The team has just one game so far, and will be pushing hard to better that tally against the depleted Manchester United, who will be missing the opening trio of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Victor Lindelof. Ralf Rangnick is expected to start with the lone goal-scorer for the Red Devils from the previous game, Edinson Cavani, as well as defender Rafael Varane. Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood could start the game from the bench.
For Burnley, Connor Roberts and Ashley Barnes are unavailable for selection, but the team could see the return of Ivorian winger Maxwel Cornet. Chris Wood will be joining Cornet in attacking the Red Devils’ net. As for the midfield, Dyche is expected to ask Josh Brownhill to join Ashley Westwood.
Despite the visitors looking to punch above it’s weight, the Red Devils will be looking to end the year on a high, and romp back to winning ways, especially after a lacklustre performance against Newcastle.
Bet on a Manchester United win.
