Poland will be hosting Belgium for a mid-week clash in Group 4 of League A, in the ongoing Nations League competition.
Poland began its journey in this year’s Nations League with a win over Wales but was followed by a 6-1 drubbing by Belgium last week. Start Polish striker Robert Lewandowski scored the first goal of the match, in the 28th minute. The hosts were able to equalize through Axel Witsel by the half-time whistle. However, Belgium overwhelmed the Polish defenses in the second half, with goals from De Bruyne, Dendocker, Openda, and a brace by Trossard.
They did however manage to draw their latest match, for which it traveled to Rotterdam. The visitors had opened up a 2-point lead by the 50th minute. But Davy Klaassen and Denzel Dumfries scored within 3 minutes of each other, and leveled the scores, ensuring that both the teams shared the points. Poland is currently 3rd on the points table, with the same number of points as 2nd placed Belgium, but a much worse goal difference.
Belgium was humbled at home in its first game of the competition by the Netherlands. Steven Bergwijn was the first one to strike for the visitors, and Memphis Depay scored a brace, with goals on either side of Denzel Dumfries, to hand a 4-goal lead to the Netherlands. Michy Batshuayi scored for the home team in stoppage time, but it was nowhere enough to prevent a humbling loss.
They came back strongly in the second match, beating Poland by 6-1, and secured the first points for itself the competition. However, it was again forced to share points with Wales in its latest game, as Brennan Johnson scored a late equalizer in answer to Youri Tielemans' 51st-minute goal.
Match prediction and football betting tips for Poland vs Belgium Nations League 2022. The match is going to be played at Stadion Narodowy, Warsaw, on 14th June 2022.
While the scars of its recent loss to Belgium will definitely remain on the Polish players’ minds, coach Czeslaw Michniewicz will definitely give his boys a pep talk so as to put the past behind them and start the match with a positive frame of mind. Robert Lewandowski is expected to make a return after missing the match against Wales, along with Wojciech Szczesny, Kamil Glik and Szymon Zurkowski.
The visitors on the other hand do have some selection problems, as Kevin De Bruyne, Thomas Meunier, Yannick Carrasco, Axel Witsel, and Dedryck Boyata are doubtful. Eden Hazard, Thorgan Hazard, and Jan Vertonghen are expected to start in this match.
With a significantly depleted squad compared to their last encounter, the visitors are unlikely to put up a repeat performance of their huge win. Indeed, there is little separating the two sides this time around.
Bet on a draw.
Both Teams to Score
Yes @ 1.80
4 of the last 6 encounters between the two nations have seen both of them score. 6 of the last 7 encounters for both, Poland and Belgium, have seen the ball hit the back of the net on both sides. The stats certainly seem to suggest that goals flow when these two teams meet. Bet on both teams getting at least one goal in this match as well.
4 of the last 5 matches for Belgium and each of Poland’s last 3 matches have seen at least 3 goals scored in them. Also, 2 of the last 4 head-to-head games have seen more than 2.5 goals scored in them, making us anticipate another high-scoring match.
