Juventus will aim to extend its winning run, as it pays a visit to Genoa next week in the Serie A 2022-23 to take on Sampdoria.
Juventus holds the record for the maximum number of Serie A titles won but hasn’t been able to lift the Scudetto in the last 2 seasons. In fact, its score of 70 points in the previous season was far worse than what it managed to get in the season before it, and coach Massimiliano Allegri will be hopeful of putting up a better effort than the 4th position it managed the last time around.
While Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral have left the club, Allegri has made a sincere effort at strengthening his squad, bringing in Paul Pogba, Bremer, Filip Kostic, and Federico Chiesa among others. While Juventus was winless in its last 3 club friendlies, they did manage to secure maximum points from their opening match. Debutant Angel di Maria scored the opening goal, while Dusan Vlahovic scored a brace on either side of the half-time whistle, as Juventus scored an easy win over Sassuolo.
Sampdoria began a fresh season of competitive football by scoring a morale-boosting 1-0 win against Reggina in the first round of the Coppa Italia. They welcomed Atalanta for the opening match of the top flight and were brought down by Gasperini’s boys. Both Toloi and Lookman scored a goal each, and Sampdoria had no answer to them, as they lost the match 2-0.
Sampdoria was dangerously close to being relegated but did manage to finish 15th in the last season. The management has replaced Roberto D’Aversa as the head coach, bringing in Marco Giampaolo, who is having a second stint with the club. Giampaolo has tried to bring teeth to his attack by signing Francesco Caputo, Abdelhamid Sabiri, and Filip Djuricic in his squad, who will hopefully help in changing the fortunes of the club.

Allegri has quite a long list of absentees for this match, including some of the recent signings.
