Both, the UAE as well as Australia have landed in Qatar, as they prepare to face each other off in the 4th round of the Asian qualifiers for the upcoming FIFA World Cup scheduled to be held in the Kingdom later this year.
UAE finished as the toppers of Group G during the second round of the qualifiers, winning 6 of their 8 matches. However, it failed to carry forward it’s form in the third round, managing to win just 3 of its 10 fixtures, and losing 4. It missed put on a top 2 finish by a huge 11-point margin, and finished 3rd in Group A, behind Iran and South Korea.
They did, however, manage to win its last group match, played against South Korea, thanks to the lone goal of the match by the young midfielder Harib Al-Maazmi in the 54th minute. UAE played its latest game at home against Gambia, an International friendly, and was held to a 1-1 draw.
Ali Mabkhout converted a penalty in the first half to put the hosts ahead, but that was equalized soon after halftime by Gambian forward Musa Barrow. However, UAE will be desperate to keep its finals hope alive by winning this match.
Just like their opponents for Tuesday, Australia finished on the top of its group table, winning each of its 8 matches in group B. Australia will consider itself a bit unlucky as it was drawn in a slightly more difficult group B, and having competed against teams like Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Oman. In fact, it managed to win just 4 of its 10 matches and narrowly made it to the 3rd place, edging out 4th placed Oman by just 1 point.
Australia was defeated in each of its last 2 Round 3 matches, losing 2-0 to Japan, and 1-0 to Saudi Arabia. However, they will be a bit relieved as they got back to winning ways in its most recent outing, an International friendly against Jordan. While it was trailing 1-0 for the most part of the first half, Bailey Wright produced the equalizer in the final moments before the half-time. Awer Mabil scored the lone goal of the second half, allowing the Socceroos to finish on top.
Match prediction and football betting tips for the United Arab Emirates vs Australia FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers 2021-22. The match is going to be played at the Al Rayyan Stadium, Qatar, on 7th June 2022.
While it is not playing at home, UAE does have the upper hand here, as the playing conditions will be pretty similar to their country. While they have had some time to acclimatize, Australia will find it a bit taxing to play in the hot and humid conditions, where temperatures are expected to hit close to 100 Fahrenheit.
With fully fit squads on both the ends, we are sure to have a closely fought encounter, as both the teams look to seal the Inter-Confederation play-off spot against Peru.
We are predicting an Australian victory here.
Bet on Australia to win.
Each of the last 6 encounters between the two teams has produced less than 2.5 goals. Australia has managed just 15 goals from its 10 Round 3 matches, while the UAE has managed to score just 7. We, therefore, predict another low-scoring game next week.
The last 6 encounters of both the teams have seen goals scored only at one end. Only 2 of the 10 third-round matches for UAE have seen both the teams score, and we predict that BTTS bet would lose in this game.
