Uruguay has a tough task ahead of it in this next World Cup 2022 Quailier as it takes on Argentina. The group is quite tightly packed and only six points separate positions three to nine. Argentina, though, has some breathing room and is currently in second place with a chance to close down the leader to Brazil in this match. Uruguay is in fifth position, the final qualifying spot, and would love to just give itself some cushion by winning this match.
The absence of Cavani for this match is a big blow to Uruguay, though, and beating Argentina is not going to be easy.
Match prediction and football betting tips for Uruguay vs Argentina World Cup 2022 Qualifiers. The match is going to be played at Estadio Campeon del Siglo, Montevideo, Uruguay on the 12th of November 2021.
Things are not looking good for Uruguay heading into this match. We think they are going to struggle to keep Argentina at bay and their World Cup 2022 Qualification campaign could be in some jeopardy. The manner of defeat for Uruguay to Argentina and Brazil, the last few times these teams have played each other is disconcerting. The defense has been easy to penetrate and Uruguay has given up goals quite easily against quality attacks. With Cavani missing out, the focus is going to be on Suarez to help them stay competitive.
We are not at all confident of Uruguay being able to withstand the Argentina attack in this match.
Bet on Argentina to win.
We don't think this match is going to be a goal-scoring fest. Both teams are missing key players and the focus is going to be on avoiding a defeat rather than going for something extraordinary. Argentina has less to lose even if the result does not go its way and so it may play with some freedom but we really don't see Uruguay making too many moves in this match. There is a good chance that both teams do not end up scoring at the end of 90 minutes.
