West Ham United will resume its English Premier League 2021-22 sojourn this week, as it hosts Watford in the ongoing season’s fixture.
West Ham survived a major scare over the weekend, in its FA Cup fixture against Kidderminster. The Hammers were trailing by a goal at halftime, and it was only in the final minutes of the game that they managed to score an equalizer and a controversial winning goal. The win will, however, be a welcome relief for David Moyes, who lost his last two Premier League games against Manchester United and Leeds United.
The team now finds itself in 5th place on the points table, with 37 points. A win against Watford will help them overtake 4th placed Manchester United, and brighten its chance for a Champions League finish.
Watford fought aggressively against Burnley and managed to squeeze out a draw in what was the first game with Roy Hodgson as the manager. While the team did not get three points, there was a silver lining in the game, as the Hornets managed to keep their first clean sheet of the season.
Watford is in the relegation zone, in 18th place, but only just, as it trails Norwich City by one point, and has played one game less. The team’s last victory came back in November, when it upset Manchester United, and has managed to pick up just 2 points from the 9 games it has played since then. A favorable result in this match will help it move clear of the bottom three.
Match prediction and betting tips for West Ham United F. C. vs Watford F. C. Premier League 2021-22. The match is going to be played at the London Stadium, London, on 8th February 2022.
We are likely to see a few changes in the West Ham line-up after the debacle at Aggborough on Saturday. Andriy Yarmolenko, Issa Diop, and Alex Kral are likely to be benched, while Tomas Soucek, Pablo Fornals, and Craig Dawson may return. Angelo Ogbonna is still nursing his knee, but Lukasz Fabianski and Michail Antonio are likely to feature in the starting eleven.
Hodgson is unlikely to disturb the balance of the team that earned him a draw but might include Emmanuel Dennis, who returns from suspension.
West Ham has scored at least thrice in the last 4 games against Watford, and we expect them to do the same this time around too.
Bet on West Ham to win.
This betting market is not the most rewarding one in terms of the odds being offered but it is not too bad either. We always like to pick off the low-hanging fruit particularly at a potential 60% return on our stake. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in each of the previous four matches played between West Ham and Watford. In fact, there have been over 3.5 goals scored in each of those matches. We think this bet has a great chance of coming through.
