Fellow Revier team, Schalke, which is back in the top flight after spending a year in 2. Bundesliga has shown some flashes of consistency under the newly appointed coach Frank Kramer. The team has lost just 2 of the 6 top-flight matches that it has played so far, and is undefeated in the last 2 outings. Last weekend, Schalke hosted Bochum for a home fixture and registered an easy 3-1 victory, which was also it's first for the season. With those 3 points, Schalke is at the 12th spot, and in a relatively comfortable position compared to the bottom 3.
Nevertheless, the fans will hope that the team puts its best foot forward this weekend to score at least 1 point against their mighty neighbors.

With a hectic schedule, Dortmund has quite a few injuries in their camp as they head into this derby. Mahmoud Dahoud, Mateu Morey Bauza, Gregor Kobel, Sebastian Haller, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are unlikely to feature in this game.
