After a gap of almost 15 days, Valencia resume it’s La Liga campaign by hosting Real Sociedad in matchweek 23 of the ongoing Spanish La Liga season.
After a good start to the season, Valencia has hit a rough patch off late, and has not won a game since the last 4 league matches. In fact, the team has collected just 1 point out of the possible 12, and as a result, has dropped to the 10th place on the points table, with 29 points. An entry in the top 4 from this stage onwards looks improbable, but the Los Che can still gun for a spot in the Europa League. Despite losing form in the La Liga, Valencia would have got some of it’s confidence back after beating Cadiz 2-1 in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, and booking a spot in the semis.
On the other hand, Real Sociedad had a dramatic exit from the Copa del Rey, losing it’s quarterfinal against Real Betis 4-0. Imanol Alguacil will now be focusing on the La Liga, and look to collect three points from as many games as he can. Real Sociedad is currently in the 6th place with 34 points, and in contention for the Conference League qualifiers. However, with just 2 points separating it from the top 4, the Whites and the Blues will be fancying their chances of a Champions League berth. The team has been unbeaten in the last 3 games, but has managed to pick up only 5 points from it’s last 7 outings.
Match prediction and betting tips for Valencia CF vs Real Sociedad La Liga 2021-22. The match is going to be played at the Estadio de Mestalla, Valencia, on 6th February 2022.
Valencia coach Bordalas has plenty of options at his disposal for this game, and will contemplating to start with Helder Costa, Maxi Gomez and Marcos Andre. Bryan Gil, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, will also most likely make his debut for the club in this game. However, Gabriel Paulista, Omar Alderete and Jasper Cillessen are set to miss out due to injuries.
The visitors have fitness problems of their own, and will be missing out on Carlos Fernandez, Nacho Monreal and Ander Barrenetxea due to injuries. Martin Zubimendi is expected to start the game.
With both the teams evenly matched on paper, we predict that this will be a close encounter, with both the teams scoring atleast one goal. However, none of them are likely to pick up 3 points.
Bet on a draw.
