Current Champions Bayern Munich will pay a visit to the Capital over the weekend, to take on hosts Hertha Berlin in match week 20 of the ongoing Bundesliga season. This will be Munich's second consecutive away game.
Like in previous seasons, Bayern Munich has been clinical in its performance so far and is again on the top of the table with 46 points. The team had suffered just two losses going into the winter break and managed to win 14 of the 17 games they had played in the first half. The team however suffered a shock 1-2 home defeat at the hands of Monchengladbach in its first fixture of the new year. The team is however back to winning ways, after drubbing Cologne to a 4-0 win. With Dortmund close on its heels at 40 points, Munich will look to extend its lead further by collecting 3 points from this game.
After a shaky start to the season, Hertha brought in a new coach in the form of Tayfun Korkut. Since taking over at the end of November, he has managed to secure 8 points from the 6 games that the team has played under him, and suffered two losses. These mediocre performances have left the Old Lady sitting in 13th place in the points table and in real danger of getting itself into the relegation zone.
In fact, its lead over 16th placed Arminia is just 4 points. After holding Wolfsburg to a goalless draw in its last League game, Hertha saw itself crashing out of the DFB Cup, losing 3-2 to Union Berlin in a mid-week clash.
Match prediction and betting tips for F. C. Bayern Munich vs Hertha BSC Bundesliga 2021-22. The match is going to be played at the Olympiastadion, Berlin, on 23rd January 2022.
Bayern Munich has been an unstoppable force this season, and much of the credit goes to Robert Lewandowski, who has shown exceptional gameplay. Having recently won the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year award will only boost his confidence as he takes the field once again. Nagelsmann will be missing out on a few players this weekend, as Alphonso Davies is suffering from a heart condition, while Goretzka has a hip problem. Lucas Hernandez and Kingsley Coman are under quarantine, and their status for the match is unknown. Choupo-Moting, who is playing AFCON, will be unavailable too.
As for Hertha, Rune Jarstein and Ruwen Werthmuller are suffering from injuries, while Oliver Christensen and Fredrik Bjorkan have tested positive for the coronavirus. In better news, Jerome Boateng and Suat Serdar are back after serving their suspensions.
While we do expect Hertha to score in this game, it is unlikely that they will throw a significant challenge to the visitors.
Bet on a Bayern Munich win.
